Seeking a Vice-Principal for the SY 2026-2027 Sturgeon Lake School requires a compassionate, motivated and child-centred Vice-Principal for the 2026-2027 school year to be responsible for assisting the Principal in overseeing the day-to-day school operations; ensuring that policies, regulations and procedures are observed and that all students are provided with a safe and welcoming learning environment.The Vie- Principal will assist the Principal with all school staff in providing leadership regarding the school's program, implementation of the New Alberta Education curriculum, financial and procedural administration, scheduling, extracurricular activities and emergency operations. The Vice- Principal will also serve as a role model by assisting staff and students with achieving an optimal educational experience.Qualifications:Proven record of effective leadership and school-based administratorAbility to work with school/community partnershipsDemonstrated focus on achievement for all studentsExcellent internal and external communication skills Commitment to using technology to enhance student learningCollaborative decision- makingRequirements:Currently holding a valid Masters Degree in education or enrolled and working towards completion of this degree would be considered an asset.Recent school administration experience/financial background and study in educational administration are definite assets for success in this role. Sturgeon Lake School is located 15 minutes west of Valleyview, Alberta on the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation. We are a K to 12 school that is dedicated to providing students the academic support needed to be contributing members of our nation and beyond.    Applicant RequirementsA Master's degree is an asset. The successful applicant will have some formal training or post-secondary courses that prove their leadership scholarship and curricular and pedagogical knowledge. Recent school administration experience and/or alternative leadership experience will be strongly considered. Ability and experience in managing budgets and finances. Having a strong knowledge and/or experience with First Nations people and communities will be considered. Salary Range $68,331.25 - $104,002.50 plus Administrative Allowance & one time relocation alotment.Manulife Group Benefits - Health, Vision, Dental Canada Life Pension Plan
