EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY PRIMARY/JUNIOR TEACHERS for 2025-2026SUMMARY OF POSITIONS: The full time Teacher will provide an effective program of instructions, establishes and maintain order and discipline in the classroom and school, undertake testing and evaluations of students under the directions of the Classroom Teacher and Principal, in accordance with the policies and regulations of the Hishkoonikun Education Authority. She/he will develop schemes of work lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:Teaching all areas of the primary curriculum.Take responsibility for the progress of a class.They will have the classroom and learning resources to create a positive learning environment for the students.Planning, preparing presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within their classes.Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentations;Teachers must maintain discipline in their classroom;Preparing and making to facilitate positive pupil development;Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of development;Providing feedback to parents on a child/children progress at parent’s evenings and other meetings;Coordinating activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, and supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area;Working with others to plan and coordinate work;Staying up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum;Taking part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening;Liaising with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly in smaller schools;Ensure that students growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area and or program classifications;Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences;Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and school; MANDATORY DOCUMENTS: • Resume• Cover Letter• Teaching Evaluations/Practicum Reports• Diplomas/Valid Teaching Certificates• Qualifications/Licenses• Vulnerable Sector Check• Three references will be required for those that get an interview.
