Position: The Montreal Lake Cree Nation is seeking a Full Time Student Support Services Teacher for Senator Allan Bird Memorial School. The Student Support Teacher will provide students that require specialized instructional support in small groups and/or one on one. Student Support Teachers are skilled professionals dedicated to providing students with the tools and guidance needed to help students succeed.  Qualifications:Bachelor of Education Degree (Required)A Valid Saskatchewan Professionl A Teaching Certificate (STF)Special Education Certificate or Experience related to this position.Experience in delivering specialized instructional strategies to students with Individualized needs.Be well versed in Google Domain applications.Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.Demonstrated organization and analytical skills.Ability to work independently, as well as part of the teaching team.Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with parents and colleagues.Evidence of strong written and oral communication skills.Provide a successful vulnerable sector criminal reference check.Duties & Responsibilities:Student Support Teacher duties can vary depending on;Liaison with other classroom teachers, school psychologists, occupational therapists, speech & Language specialists, physcial therapist, and guidance counselors to provide an integrated plan for developing the capacities of their students.Progress-monitor learning goals for each student and Keep record of Student Achievement.Develop SMART goals that are associated with learning disabilities and other special needs in a flexible and supportive learning environment.Working one on one or in a small group setting with students who have diverse needs.Preparation of learning plans and conducting assessments. Incorporating Social Emotional/Social Skills into program planning.Reading and interpreting psycho-educational reports and writing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)Experience with loft boards and adaptive technology.Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with the Education Director, Principal, teachers, and parents of students.Participation in staff meetings, student support team meetings and supervisory duties.Provide and Support classroom teachers with Inclusive best practices for the classroom.Participate in community events that link the school to the larger community.Maintain data-tracking methods and handle student files in a confidential manner.Other duties as required·2025-2026 STF Salary Grid is followed.Interested applicants can apply by submitting a resume with three references and a cover letter to Director, Diana McGillivary at director@mlcnedu.ca (Preferred Method of Submission).
