Connect.Chief Jacob Bearspaw School (CJBS) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior and Senior High Math and Science Teacher to join our K–12 learning community in beautiful Eden Valley, Alberta. CJBS is committed to fostering academic excellence while honouring and preserving Stoney Nakoda language, culture, and traditions through meaningful relationships with students, families, and the community.About the SchoolChief Jacob Bearspaw School serves students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 and is located in Eden Valley, Alberta. The school strives to prepare students for success in post-secondary education, careers, and life while promoting pride in Stoney culture and identity.Key ResponsibilitiesTeach Mathematics and Science courses at the Junior High (Grades 7–9) and Senior High (Grades 10–12) levels.Develop engaging, student-centred lessons aligned with the Alberta curriculum.Create an inclusive, respectful, and culturally responsive classroom environment.Use a variety of instructional and assessment strategies to support student success.Collaborate with colleagues, parents, Elders, and community members to enhance student learning.Integrate Indigenous perspectives and culturally relevant teaching practices into instruction.Support extracurricular activities, school initiatives, and student leadership opportunities.QualificationsValid Alberta Teaching Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one).Bachelor's Degree in EducationStrong classroom management and instructional skills.Commitment to providing differentiated learning to diverse learners.Knowledge of Alberta curriculum and assessment practices.Commitment to reconciliation and culturally responsive education.Experience working with Indigenous students and communities is considered a strong asset.Desired QualitiesThe successful candidate will demonstrate:Passion for teaching mathematics and science.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.Flexibility, creativity, and a collaborative spirit.High expectations for student achievement and well-being.Respect for Indigenous cultures, traditions, and ways of knowing.What We OfferCompetitive salary based on qualifications and experience, at or above public school board salary grids.Comprehensive benefits package.Student loan forgiveness offered by federal government.Educational assistants in the classroom.Educational supports in house, such as: student success teacher, behavior support, psychologist.Supportive school leadership and collaborative staff.Teacher housing available.The opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the Stoney Nakoda community.
