Depending on school needs and the successful candidate's qualifications, the position may also include teaching core academic courses.Career and Technology Studies ProgrammingPlan and deliver engaging CTS courses aligned with Alberta Education curriculum requirements.Create meaningful opportunities for students to explore career interests, workplace skills, trades, entrepreneurship, technology, and post-secondary pathways.Develop hands-on, project-based learning experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world applications.Support students in developing employability skills, career awareness, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.Promote student engagement through innovative and relevant CTS programmingIntegrate outdoor education and land-based learning opportunities into CTS programming whenever possible.Teach assigned junior and senior high school courses, which may include core academic subjects based on qualifications and school needs.Develop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional strategies that meet diverse student learning needs.Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that promotes student success and well-being.Differentiate instruction to support a wide range of learners and learning styles.Qualifications RequiredValid Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility for Alberta certification.Bachelor of Education or related teaching degree.Strong understanding of Alberta Education curriculum and assessment practices.Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.Commitment to student success and holistic education.PreferredCTS teaching experience and/or related industry experience.Experience teaching junior and senior high school students.Experience with project-based, experiential, or outdoor learning.Knowledge of Indigenous education and culturally responsive teaching practices.Experience working with Indigenous students, families, and communities.Ability to teach additional core subject areas is considered an asset.
