Our academic programming  and  wrap-around  supports  are  aligned  with  the  Longhouse  Values  of  the  Host  Nations. PositionSummary: The successful instructor will teach courses asynchronous to develop students’ understanding of critical issues involved in Land stewardship and environmental knowledge. Students learn how different world views have developed among Nations in BC and elsewhere, and how Indigenous knowledge systems can be used as tools for better land management. For further course information about the ILS program, please visit our website. Qualifications: Any combination of education and work experience as follows will be considered: • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. • Minimum of two (2) year of specialized experience in a related instructional or educational field. • Experience working with Indigenous communities, with an understanding of issues related to adult education. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Teaching experience in post-secondary education is preferred, including curriculum development and lesson planning. • Knowledge of Indigenous Peoples’ values, communities, instructional methodologies, and experience supporting Indigenous adult learners. • Understanding of assessment for learning and assessment as learning from an Indigenous lens. • Proficiency with Moodle is required.
