The Associate Dean operationalizes a strategic vision for teaching, learning, research and administrative functions within the Faculty, fostering is responsible for supporting the creation of a positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive, productive, effective academic work environment that facilitates high-quality academic programs, and successful students and employee engagement. The incumbent is responsible for academic leadership, program planning and delivery, Indigegogy, human resource and financial management, faculty administration, relationship building with internal and external partners, promotion of faculty programs and initiatives, and leading organizational and academic change in support of the Faculty's strategic priorities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS• Master’s Degree in Education or related field• Leadership and management experience with ability to engage, inspire, and support staff toward achieving organizational goals• Experience teaching in the provincial or federal school system• Experience teaching research and/or scholarly activity with a strong commitment to service• Experience working effectively with Indigenous peoples and northern residents• Experience leading process/quality continuous improvement and providing solutions to challenges• Ability to understand diversity, cultural influences, and issues specific to adult learners in Indigenous and northern communities• Ability to create an organizational environment that fosters and supports innovation• Knowledge of change management principles and experience in leading and managing change• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office 365 and ability to use Zoom and/or Teams• Experience working collaboratively with Indigenous Elders• Strong communication and interpersonal skills• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving and decision making skills• Effective time management skills• Commitment to life-long learning ASSETS: • Ph.D. in related field• Ability to speak an Indigenous language Conditions of Employment:• Candidates must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada• Hold a Manitoba Teaching Certificate or equivalent from another comparable jurisdiction• Valid Class 5 Driver’s license as travel is required Applicants are asked to provide a cover letter and resume with their application.
