  Amos Okemow Memorial Education Authority invites Qualified Candidates to apply for the following Full-Time teacher position at Manto Sipi Cree Nation School located at God's River for the 2026-27 Academic YearHome Economics Teacher - Secondary SchoolIncluding courses in Cooking, Family Studies, Sewing, etc. Start Date: August 24, 2026 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate or the ability to obtain a Manitoba Teaching Certificate OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor of Education Degree with Home Economics FocusKnowledge of best practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessmentExperience in teaching home economics will be considered an assetExperience teaching in a First Nation Community is an assetExcellent organizational and classroom management skillsAbility to effectively communicate with co-workers, students, parents, and outside agencies, as demonstrated through written and verbal skills JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:Prepare subject material for presentation to students according to an approved curriculumTeach students using a systematic plan of lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and laboratory and field studies. Provide projects and work assignments to permit students to demonstrate skills learned.Assign and correct homeworkPrepare, administer, and correct testsEvaluate progress, determine individual needs of students, and discuss results with students, parents, and school officialsPrepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra helpParticipate in staff meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshopsMay advise students on course selection and on vocational and personal mattersMay supervise teaching assistant and train student teachers God's River (Manto Sipi Cree Nation) is a remote First Nations community located at the mouth of God’s River located approximately 660 km northeast of Winnipeg serviced by Perimeter Aviation and Northway Air.
