Our academic programming and wrap-around supports are aligned with the Longhouse Values of the Host Nations.Position Summary: The Counsellor provides confidential, professional, and culturally responsive mental health support to NEC learners on campus. This interim role delivers short-term counselling, crisis intervention, and case management, ensuring students receive timely and accessible support during the leave period. Working in Student Services and collaboratively with Admissions and Academics, the counsellor upholds strict confidentiality, ethical practice, and coordinated care that reflects Longhouse values. Qualifications: • Master’s degree in counselling psychology, Social Work, or related field.• Current registration or eligibility for registration with a recognized professional body (e.g., BCACC, CCPA, or equivalent).• Minimum 2 years of counselling experience, preferably in virtual or post-secondary settings.• Experience delivering counselling via online platforms.• Strong understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice.• Knowledge of Indigenous wellness frameworks is an asset.• Strong crisis intervention and risk assessment skills.• Excellent communication and documentation abilities in digital environments.• Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information remotely.• Must be able to pass a criminal record check. Terms:Appointment to this full-time position will require a formal criminal record check, the details of which may preclude finalizing an offer of employment. Preference will be given to qualified Indigenous applicants. Closing Date: Open until filled.Start Date: AsapHours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm- 35 hrs./weekSalary: $39.03/hr.
