Established in 1976 the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is a First Nation governed post-secondary institution. Salary is according to the SIIT Instructor grid. This position will positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates SIIT's vision, mission, and mandate.As an instructor in Adult Basic Education (ABE), you will provide instruction of courses in the Adult 10 program. This position includes the following accountabilities:Prepare lesson plans and appropriate delivery methodsCreate, maintain and submit all course-related materials including evaluations, attendance records, course evaluations, and annual year plansIncorporate current technology advancements within instruction and administration where applicableMake recommendations to modify course objectives, course outlines, curriculum and evaluation procedures and instrumentsAdhere to and promote academic regulations and SIIT policies and proceduresFoster a positive, collaborative and professional working relationship among students, coworkers and partners across the institutionEnsures a positive, diverse and inclusive work and learning environmentMaintain classroom, and lab discipline and, if necessary, recommend action to applicable supervisor regarding student behavior, including formal student disciplinary actionRequired Qualifications and Experience: A Bachelor of Education from an accredited institution. Must possess a Saskatchewan teaching certificate or be eligible to obtain one. An understanding of adult learning theories and principals is considered an asset.
