Summary This position will be at the Stony Child Development Center, West Point, New York. The age range for this location would be children aged 6 weeks through Pre-Kindergarten. Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Available to MWR CYS Regular and FLEX (working a minimum of 15 hours). About the Stony Child Development Center (CDC). The Stony Child Development Center (CDC) is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Combined with Army standards and regulations, NAEYC guides the CDC program towards the highest quality of care for your children. CDC classrooms are mixed age groups consisting of 6 weeks to 18 months, 16 months - 36 months, preschool and a separate pre-kindergarten program.Major Duties: Serves as a Child and Youth Program Assistant in a Child and Youth Services program and maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth. Plans, coordinates, and conducts activities that meet the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs for program participants based on the group and individual children and youth. Establishes a program environment that sustains participant interest and promotes positive interactions with other children, youth, and adults. Helps prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedules and provides program options for children with special requirements. Maintains program participation data and complete daily report.
