Our academic programming and wrap-around supports are aligned with the Longhouse Values of the Host Nations. Position Summary:The instructor reports to the Family, Community, and Counselling Program Manager and is responsible for teaching two Academic Writing courses within the FCC program. The role focuses on delivering high-quality English instruction, supporting students in developing academic writing skills, and maintaining a positive, culturally grounded learning environment.www.necvancouver.org.Qualifications:Any combination of education and work experience as follows will be considered.• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Communications, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.• Minimum three years of teaching or instructional experience, preferably in post-secondary or adult education.• Strong academic writing, editing, and communication skills.• Experience supporting Indigenous adult learners, with knowledge of Indigenous values, communities, and culturally grounded instructional approaches.• Understanding of assessment for learning, including approaches informed by Indigenous perspectives.• Ability to navigate Moodle confidently for online course delivery.• Experience in lesson planning and developing instructional materials.Terms:Appointment to this casual position will require a formal criminal record check, the details of which may preclude finalizing an offer of employment. Preference will be given to qualified Indigenous applicants. Closing Date: Open until filled.Start Date: AsapHours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pmSalary: $39.56/hr. as per Collective AgreementPosition: Unionized
