The successful candidate will oversee the program, including the online learning environment and the face-to-face classrooms in 15 communities. Qualifications:Knowledge of best practices in online educationOCT qualifiedMaster’s Degree, or equivalentPrincipal Qualifications Part 1 and 2, is considered an assetExperience working with First Nation communities and schoolsExperience working in school administrationSeveral years of experience teaching in the online environment, and experience in administration in an online environment, is considered an assetFamiliarity with Ministry of Education documents (e.g., Growing Success)Knowledge of learning management systems, preferable Moodle, is considered an assetStrong technology skillsKey Responsibilities:Plan staff professional development, including NTIPTrain and support new staff members, including the use of our online learning management system and online training programMaintain teacher and student handbookMonitor online course quality to meet Ministry of Education standards (e.g., reviewing course outlines, expectation charts, online lessons)Prepare materials for school inspectionTravel to communities and meetings regularly, sometimes with short noticeParticipate in IPRC meetingsHelp plan and execute the school improvement planParticipate in leading regular staff meetingsCollaborate and communicate with teachers, Education Director, KOBE Board members, students and communitiesMaintain partnerships with communities and promote new partnerships, including credit-for-purchase agreementsAssist in completing proposals and reports
