 Posting#: S2604248(S)Posting Date: 10 Sep 2026Posting Close Date: 10 Sep 2026Category: Educational AssistantType: TERM CONTRACTDescription: Educational Assistant -Specialized Health SupportLocation: Riverheights SchoolStart Date: 05 Oct 2026End Date: 29 Jan 2027FTE/Hours: 13.75 per week  *Please note:  this position is combined with Competition S2604247 EA - Life Skills 2.75 hour.  Applicants are required to apply to both competitions. Purpose of PositionThe Educational Assistant - Specialized Health Support provides additional student support in the areas of physical care needs and will perform health care duties as outlined in a student's Individual Health Care Plan. Duties and ResponsibilitiesAre established by the School Principal within the parameters of the job profile. NOTE: Positions under the EA classification are subject to change based on student needs. Required QualificationsGrade 12 education or equivalent.Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent 1 to 2 years related experience.Demonstrated ability to follow standardized work methods and processes while working with children to support learning.Demonstrated ability to function in the language of classroom instruction.Effective basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.Demonstrated ability to work with exceptional needs children to support learning.Knowledge and demonstrated ability to provide a range of personal and medical care to assigned students with intensive needs.Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work with physically/emotionally demanding children.Preferred QualificationsClass 5 Driver’s license.First Aid, CPR.Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.WHMIS training.Your cover letter must clearly indicate how you meet the required qualifications.Permanent CUPE employees presently on staff will be given early consideration, in accordance with COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT.Salary as per COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT.
