O'Chiese Education Authority is currently accepting applications for one Grade 9 Homeroom and Junior High Social Studies Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. The applicant will have:•       a background highly specialized in Junior High Social Studies•       strong classroom management•       be trauma-informed or be willing to become trauma informed•       an understanding of Indigenous Ways of Knowing and be willing to integrate O’Chiese language and community protocols•       be willing to Indigenize the student’s Social Studies curriculum•       an ability to build rapport with students in multiple classes•       experience working with a diverse set of student needs and providing appropriate programming for those students •       the ability to differentiate instruction •       the ability to work as a team with Educational Assistants and other staff members Our school has approximately 240 students from K-12, 18 teaching staff, and 17 support staff. Our school offers traditional Saulteaux language and land-based classes to students. Our community is located in the foothills with a beautiful scenic view of the Canadian Rockies, close to local parks, within a 45-minute drive of Rocky Mountain House and approximately 2.5 hour drive to Banff, Jasper, Calgary and Edmonton.
