Summary NEH is a grant-making agency of the government dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities. NEH is the nation's largest public funder of the humanities, which include the study of modern and classical languages, linguistics, literature, history, jurisprudence, philosophy, archaeology, comparative religion, ethics, the history of the arts, and those aspects of the social sciences which have humanistic content and use humanistic methods. Created on September 29, 1965, by an act of Congress that states "Democracy demands wisdom and vision in its citizens," the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) this year celebrates 60 years of advancing history, literature, philosophy, languages, and other humanities fields.Major Duties: Staff Management.
