We are one of Manitoba’s Top Employers and offer a generous Total Compensation Package with health benefits, a great pension plan along with the opportunity for personal and professional growth including tuition waivers. DUTIES:Reporting to the Associate Dean of Mihcet Meskanawah Teaching and Learning (MMTL), the Administrative Assistant is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Education and Training Centre (ETC) in Tataskweyak Cree Nation (Split Lake) and serves as the primary point of contact for UCN programming within the community. The incumbent supports the scheduling and delivery of education and training programs by coordinating administrative processes, responding to public, student, and instructor inquiries, and working collaboratively with UCN departments, faculty, and staff. This role ensures the efficient operations of the Centre, maintains a strong community presence, and promotes a professional, culturally respectful, safe and welcoming environment. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Office Assistant Certificate: equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered• Experience working in an office environment• Knowledge of local organizations and community• Strong communication and interpersonal skills• Well developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office 365 with ability to use Zoom and/or Teams• Experience working with Indigenous and northern adult learners• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines and adapt in a dynamic fast paced environment• Self motivated with ability to work independently as well as part of a team• Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality• Commitment to life-long learning ASSETS: • Ability to speak an Indigenous language• Administrative experience in an educational environment• Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures Conditions of Employment:• Candidates must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada Applicants are asked to provide a cover letter and resume with their application.
