Elementary Special Ed Teacher

Fort Bend Independent School District is seeking qualified applicants for the following position: Teacher Special Education ECSE School Year: 2026-2027 Location: Early Intervention Academy Job Overview: The Teacher Special Education ECSE Early Intervention Academy (EIA) will provide instruction in academic, behavior, communication, independent living, social and personal care skills to students with disabilities using a variety of teaching techniques, materials and equipment. The incumbent will provide a range of services available for children who are ages 3-5. The ECSE program generally serves students with significant cognitive, behavioral, communication, and/or physical disabilities. The students may require full assistance to care for their daily needs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Bachelor's Degree in Education or related fieldValid Teaching Certification issued by the Texas Education Agency appropriate to the subject and grade level of the assignment.Appropriate content area certification for the subject and grade level of the assignment, or demonstrate competency through the state's 2010 and 2011 High Objective Uniform State Standard of Evaluation (HOUSSE)Valid Special Education Certification Special Education, EC-12De-Escalation/Restraint Certification Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required within 30 days of providing instruction (District offers CPI training at no cost during the summer and throughout the school year)Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) training required within one year of hire dateExperience preferred but not requiredAbility to plan and implement lessons based on the needs and abilities of studentsAbility to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parentsExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenDemonstrated knowledge of appropriate technology equipment and software programsProven ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs.
