Summary This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent is responsible for providing academic advisement for the Security Cooperation Workforce (SCW) and administers and manages competency-based education, training, and development platform for military and civilians in the SCW This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. DSCA's mission is to advance U.S. national security and foreign policy interests by building the capacity of foreign security forces to respond to shared challenges. DSCA leads the broader U.S. security cooperation enterprise in its efforts to train, educate, advise, and equip foreign partners. DSCA administers security cooperation programs that support U.S. policy interests and objectives.Major Duties: As a LEAD EDUCATION SERVICES SPECIALIST at the GS-1740-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the Registrar to the Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU), represents the Agency and DSCU leadership with a variety of Security Cooperation organizations, defense agencies military service training managers, student-service organizations, installation lodging, and other key stake holders in written communications. briefings and meetings. Briefs and advises DSCU leadership on the status and needs of the professional development program and promotes program acceptance and participation. Researches, analyzes, and evaluates data to support forecasting and management of resources and manpower; uses oral and written communication to provide information to stakeholders Serve as coach, facilitator and/or negotiator in coordinating student services initiatives and in consensus building activities. Focal Point and subject matter expert of the International Military Student (IMS) program, a DoD mandated program for schools providing education and training to international military and civilian students, overseeing budget and manpower. Maintains and populates Cornerstone on Demand, Blackboard or potentially other Student Information Systems and Learning Management Systems; leads technical support and access for the SCW. Ensures that DSCU's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are integrated into the Registrar goals and objectives and subordinate work plans and work products. Identifies, distributes, and balances the workload across a team of civilians and contractors
