English Language Development Teacher

San Juan Unified School is seeking qualified applicants for the following position: English Language Development Teacher School Year: 2026-2027 Location: Thomas Edison Language Inst. (High Needs School) Definition: Under administrative supervision, provides support to English learners in their development of English skills. Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Credentials: Possession of a valid California credential, or equivalent, which authorizes teaching of the assigned subjects/students; English Learner Authorization Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of the fundamental principles and accepted practices, current trends, literature and research related to the grade(s) and courses taught; knowledge of teaching strategies and classroom management; knowledge of applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures; knowledge of record-keeping and report preparation techniques; ability to plan, organize, prioritize and manage time; ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, peers, administrators, and other district personnel, both individually and in a group; ability to observe, monitor, and evaluate student progress and behavior; ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others; possess a positive attitude towards students, learning and teaching; knowledge of assessment tools.
